The PTA is always looking for a few great people that can spare a little time to help make our events a success. Below you will find brief description of each committee and events that we need help with throughout the year or are in need of someone to head the committee or serve as an assitant who could take over as committee chair in the future. Box Tops
Collects, counts and sends in box top labels, communicates with parents and monitors our online account for accuracy.
Core 5
Is a group of 5 people that through e-mail and phone calls contact members to request volunteers for PTA and School events throughout the year.
Classroom Programs
Works with the teachers to set up and coordinate programs to be brought into the classroom that enhance the curriculum in each grade level.
Dinner Night Out
Coordinates and publicize off site fundraising events at local restaurants.
Family Events
Organizes and over sees a variety of family oriented events throughout the year.
Fundraising
Coordinates and over sees various fundraisers throughout the year.
Historian
Uses newsletters, pictures and other resources to scrapbook yearly PTA events.
Hospitality
Responsible for serving refreshments at various events, sending congratulation, sympathy, thank you and birthday cards and gifts to staff.
Membership
Runs membership drive, puts together, collects and records membership information, submits reports to state PTA, distributes membership cards and makes copies of membership reports and information for Executive Board.
Mini – Grants
Gives Mini-Grant information to teachers, organizes grant applications for approval and tracks funds.
Mini – Museum
Coordinates volunteers for each classroom, keep supplies stocked for use in the workroom.
Newsletter
Collects articles and information to produce and distribute newsletter monthly.
PAT (Parents Appreciating Teachers) Program
Sends information to parents and teachers regarding program and tracks and distributes funds to teachers.
Publicity
Arranges publicity pieces promoting Whispering Wind and/or PTA events and information and distributes to local paper.
Shop for Education - Store Porgrams
Coordinates and publicizes store rebate programs.
United Parent Council Representative
Attend and represent PTA at monthly UPC meetings and report to PTA.
PTA Website
Works with PTA board and committee chairs to maintain content on PTA website.
